Aam Panna is the choicest summer cooler enjoyed in every Indian household especially the ones that experience high temperatures during the summer time. This classic homemade Indian drink beats the summer heat, keeps you well hydrated and safe from heat strokes and nausea. It is tangy and sweet and not only makes you feel rejuvenated but also offers health benefits- increases the sugar levels, keeps your digestive system in order, acts an appetizer and spikes your energy levels. The drink is a wholesome blend of sweet, zest and tanginess…just too refreshing and perfect beverage for summer time!
This refreshing raw mango drink can be prepared in a jiffy. Allow me to share the easy recipe for this summer cooler.
4 Raw Mangoes, large size
2 tsp Cumin Powder
20-25 Mint leaves
Black Salt to taste
2 pinches of Asafoetida powder
100-150 gm powdered Sugar
1. Peel and dice the raw green mangoes. Add one and half a litre of water in the cooker and pressure cook the raw mangoes. Turn off the gas once the mangoes are done (turn soft), allow them to cool down.
2. Roast the cumin seeds and coarsely grind them with the help of a pestle-mortar. You can also use roasted cumin powder available in the grocery store.
3. Now add the mint leaves, sugar, cumin powder, cooked mango pulp, black salt, asafoetida into the food processor and blend it into a fine puree. Add enough water to get the right consistency and taste. Pour the Aam panna into 5 glasses and add ice cubes and serve chilled.
